The Nassau County Police Department reports the details of a residential fire that occurred on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in Elmont.
According to Police, Fifth Precinct Officers responded to a call for a house fire located on Catherine Court. Upon arrival, Officer Monahan, Tomeo and Errante observed the home engulfed in flames and escorted four occupants, 80, 78,74,72 years of age, to safety. All four residents were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment by medic Annunziato who also assisted at the scene.
The Elmont Fire Department responded and was assisted by several other Fire Departments including Lakeview, Valley Stream and Franklin Square.
The Red Cross was notified and responded.
Arson/Bomb Squad Detectives and Fire Marshals were also at the scene. The fire does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
Investigation is ongoing.
