Eighth Squad detectives report the arrests of two (2) men for Criminal Mischief that occurred on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:05 am in Levittown.
According to detectives, a female employee at St. Bernard Elementary School located at 3100 Hempstead Turnpike observed two males enter a St. Vincent De Paul clothing bin. The subjects broke the lock on the bin and placed multiple bags of clothing into a white Ford van. The van fled the scene.
A description of the vehicle was transmitted over the radio and officers located a van traveling eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. The officer activated his emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
A thorough investigation was conducted and Alvarado Antonio Gudiel, 32, of 6010 Commander Avenue, West Babylon, and Rafael Asuncion Peralta-Calero, 26, of 6 Rose Court, Copiague were arrested without incident.
The defendants are charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny, and multiple VTL violations. They were issued appearance tickets returnable to First District Court on March 22, 2021.
