The Special Victims Squad reports the arrest of a Seaford man that occurred on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 3:00 AM in Seaford for Sexual Abuse.
According to Detectives, a joint investigation was conducted between the Nassau County Special Victims Squad, the Hazelwood Police Department in Missouri and the Federal Bureau of Investigations Crimes Against Children Division. The investigation led to the arrest of defendant Jesse Vargas, 37, on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his place of residence at 2050 Seamans Neck Road. In 2011, the defendant while acting as a youth pastor at the Incredible Journey to Christianity retreat in the State of Michigan met a 13-year-old female juvenile. On Thursday, June 20, 2013, two years later, the defendant arraigned to have the now 15-year-old female juvenile visit his place of residence in Seaford, where he engaged in a sexual act. The investigation is ongoing.
Defendant Jesse Vargas is charged with Sexual Abuse 2nd degree, Criminal Sex Act 3rd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be arranged on Friday, March 19, 2021 in Mineola.
