The Nassau County Public Information Office reports the details of a residential/structure fire that occurred on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 1:00 A.M.
According to Police, First Precinct Police Officers responded to a call for a possible house fire located at 132 Nassau Rd. Upon arrival Police observed the upstairs portion of the buildings rear apartment, engulfed in flames. Responding Nassau County Officers entered the building and assisted in evacuating approximately 15 residents. An additional 10-15 residents were evacuated from nearby homes. All occupants of the buildings were evacuated safely with no injuries reported. Red Cross responded to assist 13 displaced families. The Nassau County Police Arson Bomb Squad responded along with the Nassau County Fire Marshall. The investigation is ongoing.
The Roosevelt, Freeport, South Hempstead, Uniondale Fire Departments, along with 10 other local Departments responded to assist in extinguishing the fire.
