County Executive Laura Curran and Commissioner of Police Patrick J. Ryder announce the Nassau County Police Department’s efforts to enforce Distracted Driving Vehicle and Traffic Laws on Nassau Roads to keep our travelers safe.
This initiative will consist of high visibility enforcement which will target distracted driving. More specifically, enforcement efforts will be aimed at both texting and cell phone use while driving. The goal of the program is to increase safety in an effort to reduce serious injuries and deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents caused by distracting driving in Nassau County.

Where: Seaford Oyster Bay Southbound Ramp, Syosset
Approach the southbound Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway ramp from the west while traveling on Jericho Turnpike. You will then be directed by members from Highway Patrol.
**Visuals – Highway Patrol Officers will be stopping violators at the above location and will be available for interviews.
