Detectives from the 1st Precinct report the arrest of a Roosevelt man on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12:00 pm in Roosevelt.
According to Detectives, Officers responded to 22 E. Pennywood Avenue, Roosevelt for a dispute between two men, one with a gun. After an initial investigation and through interviews with multiple witnesses Officers confirmed that the suspect did brandish a rifle during a dispute with his neighbors. The defendant refused to speak with Officers and refused entry. Further investigation confirmed the presence of a female resident and her two children within the home whom were in fear for their lives and wanted to exit the home. Officers immediately set up a perimeter around the house and requested assistance from the Emergency Services Unit and the Bureau of Special Operations. Shortly after, and without injury nor further incident, these efforts led to the arrest of Michael Glenn, 67 years old, of 18 E. Pennywood Avenue, Roosevelt. The female resident and her children did successfully exit the house and no injuries were reported.
Defendant Michael Glenn is charged with Three counts of Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree/with intent to use, Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Two counts of Unlawful Imprisonment in the 1st Degree, Two counts of Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on April 10, 2021 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
