County Executive Laura Curran and Commissioner of Police Patrick J. Ryder announce the “Nassau County Police Department Senior Engagement Program” initiative to protect our seniors and other residents in need of assistance.
This early action and notification program will assist our department and police officers on patrol to identify seniors on their geographical posts, especially during emergencies. Seniors will also be able to sign up for early notifications regarding crime related issues, such as Senior Scams, storms, other weather related events, road closures, etc...
The Police Department is working collaboratively on this initiative with the Nassau County Office of the Aging and the United Jewish Appeal – Federation of New York to bring this to the attention of our residents and assist with enrollment.
