The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Baldwin man for Grand Larceny that occurred in Farmingdale on Wednesday, August 05, 2015 at 10:59 pm in Farmingdale.
According to detectives Second Precinct Police Officers responded to Sunset Taxi located at 180 Atlantic Avenue for 2004 Ford Taxi that was just stolen. A short time later Second Precinct Police located the stolen auto parked on Stewart Avenue in the vicinity of Hempstead Turnpike, Bethpage. As police approached the vehicle the defendant Christopher Chiaro, 31, of 2302 Rockwood Avenue ran north on Stewart Avenue and was placed into police custody soon after Second Precinct Police Officers chased after him on foot. While conducting an investigation officers recovered a black bag from the taxi that contained a 9 mm handgun, ammo, two high capacity magazines, 203 Oxycodone pills, 10 Clonazepam, and 2 Suboxone. The defendant was then transported to the Second Precinct to be processed. While at the precinct Second Precinct Officers had to administer NARCAN to the defendant for an apparent Opiate overdose. The defendant Christopher Chiaro was then transported to a local hospital in a Nassau County Police Ambulance and is being treated.
Defendant Christopher Chiaro is being charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree, Assault 2nd Degree, 2 counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, 3 counts Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, 2 counts Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammo Feeding Device, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. He will be arraigned as soon as medically practical.
