The Third Squad reports the arrest of man from Great Neck for Assaulting a Nassau County Police Officer that occurred on Monday, June 21, 2020 at 10:10 PM in Mineola.
According to Detectives, Third Precinct Officers were dispatched for a disturbance that occurred near the intersection of Mineola Boulevard and Grant Avenue. Upon their arrival, Officers found defendant Gerzon Maudial Hernandez, 27, of 12 Clair Street, acting irate. During a Police investigation, defendant Hernandez began to shout at the Officers and became physically aggressive. As Officers were placing defendant Hernandez under arrest, he spat and kicked at Officers to resist. Defendant Hernandez continued to kick and spit on Officers and a Police Medic as they secured him to a stretcher and was transported by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a nearby hospital for assessment. Two Nassau County Police Officers were also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries to their hands.
Defendant Hernandez is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd degree, Harassment 2nd degree, False Personation and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in Mineola.
