The Major Case Squad and the Fourth Squad report the arrest of a Yonkers man for an “Elder Scam” incident that occurred on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Cedarhurst.
According to Detectives, an 82-year-old male victim, was contacted via telephone by an unknown male claiming to know who scammed the victim in the past and wanted to be paid for this information. Detectives began an undercover operation on June 27, 2021 and over the next two days communicated with the defendant. On June 28, 2021 a meeting was arranged where the victim was instructed to bring $6,000.00 for payment of this information.
At approximately 3:15 p.m. the defendant, Milyone G. Clariot, 21, of 105 Landscape avenue in Yonkers, NY arrived at the arranged location, the corner of 775 Branch boulevard in Cedarhurst, to pick up the money. Defendant Clariot was brought to the Fourth Precinct for a further investigation and was arrested.
Defendant Clariot is charged with (Attempted) Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree. He was issued an Appearance ticket.
