Major Case Bureau Detectives from the Gang Investigation Squad report the arrest of a Uniondale man for an incident that occurred on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 4:54 pm in Uniondale.
According to detectives, officers responded to a “Shot Spotter” notification on 950 Ditmas Avenue and found multiple shell casings in front of 751 Ditmas Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located Raleak Wilson, 18, of 711 Coleridge Road, at his residence after he was approached by unknown subjects in a vehicle that drove by and fired several shots at him, yet to be arrested.
Officers that were dispatched to the scene, found Wilson suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
A subsequent investigation further revealed that Wilson was illegally in possession of a firearm and an execution of a search warrant on the defendant’s home, resulted in the recovery of a loaded and defaced 9-millimeter handgun.
Defendant Raleak Wilson was placed under arrest and is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
