The Nassau County Police Department, Walmart, and the Nassau County Police Department Foundation announce they will be hosting a Backpack and School Supply Giveaway to deserving children of the Elmont School District.

At this event, hundreds of backpacks will be provided to children that are returning to school this September. These backpacks will also be filled with supplies for school, including notebooks, pens, pencils, papers and other items for the classroom. The backpacks are intended for elementary school children.

Thousands of children will be returning to school in a few weeks and a number of them need basic school supplies. The backpack giveaway helps prepare students with the tools needed for the year ahead.

The Nassau County Police Department will also have its Police Officer Superhero’s in costume, Mounted Unit and Bureau of Special Operations on hand assisting and interacting with the students.
