The First Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Roosevelt man that occurred on October 22, 2021 at 9:05 pm in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, while on routine patrol, COPE officers conducted an investigation at the corner of Woods Avenue and Gilbert Place which led to the arrest of Defendant Gregory Booker, 57, of 2 John Street.
Officers attempted to place him into custody and Booker refused to comply with multiple verbal commands. After a brief struggle the defendant was taken into custody. As a result of the defendant actively resisting arrest, two officers sustained injuries and were both transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The Defendant Booker was found to be in possession of a white rock like substance and a glass pipe containing a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine.
Defendant Gregory Booker is charged with two (2) counts of Assault 2nd Degree, four (4) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Resisting Arrest and a Public Places-Regulation Violation.
