The Homicide Squad is investigating an incident that occurred on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 3:29 pm in Freeport.
According to Detectives, Freeport Police Officers responded to an aided case in the vicinity of 97 South Bay Avenue. Upon arrival, Officers discovered a 28-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced by a hospital physician. The investigation is ongoing.

The victim has been identified as James T. Diamond, 28 of Long Beach.

Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of Corey Grier, 27, of 397 Guy Lombardo Avenue, Freeport, Eric R. Baldwin, 25, of 397 Guy Lombardo Avenue, Freeport and Todd Brant, 20, of 155 Pinewood Crescent, Middle Island in connection with the above incident.
Corey Grier is charged with Murder 2nd Degree, Robbery 1st Degree and two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
Eric R. Baldwin is charged with Murder 2nd Degree, Robbery 1st Degree and two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
Todd Brant is charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Robbery 1st Degree.
All three defendants will be arraigned on November 4, 2021 in First District Court, Hempstead.
