The Major Case Bureau reports the details of an Arrest for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 11:08 PM in East Meadow.
According to Robbery Squad Detectives, defendants Oscar Marcia, 27, of 75 Mason Place, Levittown; Jose Antonis, 33, of 26 Miller Place, Hempstead and Victor Almandades-Zavala, 28, of 84 Windsor Parkway, Hempstead, entered through the front door of a BP Gas Station located at 1878 Hempstead Turnpike. Defendant Zavala approached the 25-year-old male employee located at front register and displayed a handgun, pointing it at the victim while demanding cash and lottery tickets; the victim fearing for his life, complied. The three defendants then exited the BP Gas Station and entered into a blue 2012 Dodge Caravan and fled the scene. While driving onto Southern State Parkway near the intersection of Newbridge Road, the vehicle did strike a traffic safety sign, disabling it. The three defendants then exited the vehicle and fled on foot but were all apprehended a short time later by Police. After conducting a Police investigation, defendant Zavala was found to have been also responsible for a Robbery that occurred at the same BP Gas station on December 11, 2021.
All three defendants are charged with Robbery 1st degree, Robbery 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Additionally, defendant Victor Almandades-Zavala is charged with Robbery 1st degree, Assault 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest and defendant Jose Antonis is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree. They will all be arraigned in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead on Sunday, January 1, 2022.
