The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of three men for a Robbery which occurred on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 2:25 A.M. in Westbury.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a local taxi was dispatched to Cedar Road for a pickup. Upon arrival the driver observed four suspects sitting on the curb. Two of the suspects entered the car, one of them reaching around the driver and grabbing him by the neck in a chokehold. The other two, standing nearby, approached the taxi. One of them displayed a handgun, demanding money from the victim. The victim advised the suspects he did not have any money. One of the suspects from outside the car reached in and removed the keys from the vehicle. All of the suspects fled on foot. Three of them were located a short time later, walking west on Prospect Avenue, and placed under arrest without incident. A black revolver was recovered. They are identified as Quraan Williams, 18, 162 Rhododendron Drive, Westbury, Christopher Clausell, 18, of 156 Amherst Street, Hempstead and Marlik Petti-Frere, 16, of 166 Pearl Street, Westbury. The fourth suspect was not apprehended.
The men are charged with Robbery 1st degree and Robbery 2nd degree. Additionally Williams is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and a violation of a Probation warrant and Petit-Frere is charged with Criminal Uses of a Firearm 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree and Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree. They will be arraigned on Friday, July 24, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
