The Major Case Bureau reports the arrests of two Elmont men for Grand Larceny and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred in Hicksville on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 4:25 pm.
According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, New York Community Bank Security Officers observed via camera the defendant Paul A. Webster, 25, of 104 Village Avenue using the ATM machine located at Waldbaums, 336 North Broadway, Jericho and in possession of multiple credit/debit cards. The defendant was using the cards that contained account numbers from other institutions and withdrawing money in order to enrich himself. New York Community Bank Security officer’s also observed a second defendant Owen Johnson, 27, of 238-15 117th Road using the ATM machine located at 100 Duffy Avenue, Hicksville and also had in his possession multiple credit/debit cards from other institutions withdrawing money to enrich himself. Second Precinct Police were called and responded to 336 North Broadway and observed defendant Paul A. Webster using the ATM and placed him into police custody without incident. Second Precinct Police Officers were also advised that a second man involved was walking on Newbridge Road near Duffy Avenue. Police responded and also placed defendant Owen Johnson into police custody without incident. A subsequent investigation revealed that the defendants parked their Audi at the Long Island Train Station parking lot located at Duffy Avenue and Newbridge Road. Officers recovered multiple credit/debit cards and an undisclosed amount of US currency from inside the auto. There were no injuries reported.
Paul A. Webster is charged with 6 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. Owen Johnson is charged with 10 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and Grand Larceny 4th Degree. Both were arraigned in First District Court on Satrurday, June 20, 2015.
