The Fifth Precinct reports the arrest of three men during the ‘Quality of Life’ Initiative that was conducted on Thursday, August 3, 2023, in Elmont.
According to Officers, an initiative was conducted on Wednesday July12, 2023 and a follow up investigation was conducted on two of those previous locations with the assistance of the Town of Hempstead Building Code Enforcement and the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office resulting in the locations boarded up and closed in addition to the following individuals arrested:
- Gas Pack Snack Box – 127 Hempstead Turnpike. Defendant Mohsin Y. Ali, 25, of 8524 148th Street Jamaica – approximately one hundred forty-three various Tetrahydrocannabinol products were on display for purchase. He is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and will be arraigned on Friday, August 4, 2023, in First District Court.

- SMB Grocery – 1391 Hempstead Turnpike. Defendant Alex Bonilla, 40, of 45 Evans Avenue Elmont – possession of three illegal ‘Game of Skill’ gambling machines; police seized machines. He is charged with three counts of Possession of a Gambling Device and was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable on August 24, 2023, to First District Court. Subsequent to the investigation, multiple illegal apartments were observed and Defendant Frank Cipolla, 34, of 1306 South Street Elmont was placed under arrest for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and had two previous warrants from Nassau County for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Friday, August 4, 2023, in First District Court.
