The Seventh Squad reports the Arrest of a Massapequa man at 10:36am on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Massapequa.
According to Detectives, Defendant Eliakim Ishchayil, 53, of 807 Clocks Boulevard was involved with transferring a deed of a residence owned by a female victim, 60, into his own name. Officers located the Defendant at his residence and placed him into custody without incident. The Defendant admitted to Officers that his two children ages 6 and 9 years and five dogs were in his apartment and on the property. Officers located the children in the apartment and contacted Child Protective Services due to the deplorable and unsanitary conditions. The children were transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and temporarily released into foster care.
Officers located two dogs in the rear yard and three dogs inside a detached garage. Of the three dogs inside the garage, two were crated together and one crated alone. The dogs were caged in urine and feces in the crate and on their bodies and one dog had open wounds and was covered in blood as well. No food or water were present; four of the dogs were emaciated. The Town of Oyster Bay Animal Shelter responded and removed the dogs for emergency medical treatment.
Subsequent to the investigation, the Defendant also had an open Nassau County Bench Warrant signed on Monday, May 8, 2023 for two unlicensed dogs.
Defendant Eliakim Ishchayil is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, two counts of Identity Theft 1st Degree and five counts of Torturing or Injuring Animals. He became in need of medical assistance and will be arraigned when medically practical.
