The Nassau County Police report the details of an Aided Case involving the birth of a baby boy on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 8:55 am in East Meadow.According to police, First Precinct police officer’s Joseph Tuffarelli and Chris Makastchian responded to an East Meadow residence for a call of a 34-year-old woman in labor. Upon arrival, the First Precinct officers observed the mother to be in active labor in the living room with imminent signs of delivering a baby. Nassau County Police Medics Katlyn Billian and Valerie Seidel also responded and were able to deliver a healthy baby boy at 9:11 am. The police medics were able to cut the umbilical cord, suction and stimulate the baby. The mother and baby were were assessed in the home. The mother was given additional care before being transported in a Nassau County Police ambulance for evaluation and treatment at a nearby hospital. During the transport the mother and baby were given the ability to bond while being continuously assessed. The baby and mom are listed in stable condition and doing well.
