The Public Information Office reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 7:00 pm in Elmont.
According to police, officers responded to a building fire located at 1975 Linden Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers observed heavy smoke coming from the building and were informed that all occupants had evacuated the premise. The Elmont Fire Department responded to the scene and were assisted by Malverne Fire Department, Valley Stream Fire Department, Franklin Square Fire Department and South Hempstead Fire Department.
Two occupants were evaluated by a Nassau County Police Medic and refused further medical treatment at the scene. Three firemen were treated on scene for smoke inhalation and one fireman sustained a minor laceration to his hand. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Nassau County Fire Marshals, Arson Bomb Squad and Town of Hempstead Building Department all responded. The fire does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
Investigation is ongoing.
