The Third Squad reports the details of a Criminal Mischief Larceny that occurred on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 7:40 p.m. in North New Hyde Park.
According to Detectives, a man purchased an Apple I-Watch from the Apple store in the Roosevelt Field Mall, located at 630 Old Country Road in Garden City. He entered his vehicle and proceeded to his destination. While stopped at a red traffic light in the vicinity of Lakeville Road and Fairfield Lane, a late model Gray Kia SUV did stop behind the victim’s vehicle. A male white Hispanic in his early 20’s, wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts, baseball cap, and sneakers did approach the victim’s vehicle holding a center punch, which is used to break glass, in his hand and did use it to smash the rear driver side window of the vehicle. The suspect then removed the Apple I-Watch and got back into the Kia SUV which was driven by another unknown female subject, they fled eastbound on Evergreen Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.
