The Narcotics Vice Squad reports the arrest of a Hicksville man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 4:10 PM in Hicksville.
According to detectives, an investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration New York’s Long Island District Office Task Force, which is comprised of Nassau County Police Department Narcotics/Vice Squad along with law enforcement partners from the Nassau County DA’s Office, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, the Suffolk County Police Department, Freeport Police Department and the NY State Police Department.
This investigation led to the arrest of defendant Anthony Gianatiempo, 34, of 81 Cantiague Lane who was found to be in possession of 59 pills believed to be pressed fentanyl, 47 pills believed to be pressed methamphetamine and 10 glass vials containing a liquid believed to be fentanyl.
During the course of the investigation at the defendant’s residence, detectives came across multiple devices which appeared to be explosives. The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad responded and removed five devices along with twenty-five (25) one-pound containers of smokeless gun powder and one (1) eight-pound container of smokeless gun powder. Detectives also recovered 750 grams of a substance believed to be Fentanyl, 190 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine and 200 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
