The Electronics Squad Fraud and Forgery Unit reports the details of a Grand Larceny that occurred on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Massapequa.

According to Detectives, a 28-year-old male victim had been contacting via email someone whom he believed was his Real Estate Attorney in regard to payment for closing on a real estate property. The victim wired approximately $112,000.00 US currency to a bank. A short time later the victim received an email from his real Attorney informing him that the prior emails and money request where not from him and where from an unknown subject. The investigation is ongoing.
