The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Seaford man for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) for an incident that occurred on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 9:00 PM in Massapequa Park.
According to Police, Seventh Precinct Officers responded to Harbor Lane for an auto accident. An investigation revealed the defendant Francisco Pimentel, 42, of 2138 Parkside Drive was operating a 2010 GMC and struck a parked unoccupied vehicle. Officers observed the defendant to have slurred speech, watery eyes, was unsteady on his feet and had an odor of alcohol emanating from his breath. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test was conducted yielding positive results and the defendant was placed under arrest without incident.
Further investigation revealed the defendant had five juvenile passengers ages 10, 11, 11, 12 and 13 in the vehicle. They were all released into the custody of their family members. Three of the juveniles were transported to local area hospitals for evaluation.
Defendant Francisco Pimentel is charged with five (5) counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Child under 16) under the Leandra’s Law, five (5) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and two (2) counts of Driving While Intoxicated. He will be arraigned on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
