The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 9:28 a.m. in Valley Stream.
According to Detectives, a 33-year-old male operating a 2023 Ducati Motorcycle was traveling southbound on Rockaway Parkway at the intersection of West Jamaica Avenue when he struck an 87-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing the street. The pedestrian was transported by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition with head and leg injuries. The operator of the motorcycle remained at scene and refused medical attention. The investigation is ongoing.

The above listed victim has succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased by a hospital physician. He has been identified as Harold Dickert, 87 of Plainview.
