The Third Squad reports the arrest of two Queens men for an Attempted Grand Larceny that occurred on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 4:51 pm in Garden City.

According to detectives, Manny A. Alvarez Marriaga, 24, of 10521 63^rd Drive and Kevin A. Alvarez, 25, of 148-45 89^th Avenue, impersonated a Nassau County employee and used a fraudulent account in an attempt to place a purchase order of 22 Hewlett Packard notebooks valued at $43,978 from Ray-Block, a Nassau County vendor for office supplies.   A thorough investigation by detectives ensued and both defendants were located in Garden City and placed into custody.  

Defendant Manny A. Alvarez Marriaga and Kevin A. Alvarez are both charged with Attempted Grand Larceny 3^rd Degree and Conspiracy 5^th Degree.   They will be arraigned on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
