The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a Fire that occurred at 1:30 am on Sunday, May 26, 2025 in East Meadow.
According to detectives, police responded to a house fire at an 8th Street residence. Upon arrival, officers were notified that three (3) occupants, a 66-year-old male, 35-year-old female and 6-year-old male had safely exited the house but an additional male was still inside the home. Officers then entered the house and proceeded to the second floor to perform a search for the male victim, 63. The officers were able locate the male and remove him to safety.
The rescued male was transported to an area hospital for smoke inhalation and extensive burns. He is currently in critical but stable condition. No further injuries were reported.
The East Meadow Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad also responded to the scene. The Red Cross was notified and responded to offer assistance to the displaced residents.
The investigation is ongoing.
