First Squad detectives are investigating a Menacing that occurred on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 6:00 pm in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, a male victim, 17, was approached by an unknown male subject at Roosevelt High School located at 1 Wagner Avenue and was involved in a verbal argument. The male subject then lifted his shirt and exposing the handle of a black firearm that was tucked into his waistband. The subject then stated to the victim to wait for him in the parking lot. The victim in fear for his life ran from scene and police were notified. The subject then left scene on foot and was last seen walking southbound on Denton Place.
The subject is described as a male Hispanic, mid 30’s to 40’s, approximately 5’9” and weighing approximately 220 pounds.

The First Squad reports the arrest of Eybin Umana, 40, 164 Grenada Avenue, Roosevelt. He is charged with Menacing 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be arraigned on Thursday, August 21, 2025 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
