The Narcotics/Vice Squad reports the arrest of an Oceanside man for an incident that occurred on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 2:25 PM in Oceanside.
According to Detectives, officers responded to a commercial building located at 2901 Long Beach Road. Upon arrival, officers observed a heavy smoke condition emanating from High Seas Gallery located on the second floor. The Oceanside Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad were also at scene. No injuries were reported.
After a thorough investigation, it revealed that Cannabis and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) were being sold from that location. Defendant Zachary Mednick, 31, of 3392 Poplar Street was placed under arrest without incident and was also found to be in possession of assorted narcotics.
Defendant Zachary Mednick is charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, August 22, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
