The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Far Rockaway man for an incident that occurred on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 4:30 pm in Oceanside.
According to Detectives, Defendant Brandon McFadden, 62, of 249 Beach 15th Street, entered Stop & Shop located at 465 Atlantic Avenue and concealed various food items in a red reusable bag. The defendant then proceeded to pass all points of purchase and exited the store without rendering payment. A male employee, 69, approached the defendant who then threatened him with a razor blade before fleeing the scene. A short time later, officers responded and located the defendant nearby and placed him under arrest without incident.
Subsequent to the investigation, the defendant was found to be in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine. The defendant was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Defendant Brandon McFadden is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree and Petit Larceny. Further investigation revealed the defendant has two open bench warrants from New York City. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
