The First Squad reports the arrest of a Manhattan man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in Rockville Centre.
According to Detectives, a 51-year-old male victim mailed a personal bank check which was altered and cashed by an unknown individual in the sum of $13,500.00 USC. After a thorough investigation, defendant, Christopher Mercado, 28, of 218 East 115th Street was identified as the individual who altered and cashed the victims personal bank check. The defendant was located and arrested without incident.
Defendant Mercado is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Forgery 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, Identity Theft 1st Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification Information 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
