The First Squad reports the arrest of a male juvenile for a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 9:19 AM in Roosevelt.
According to Detectives, officers responded to the vicinity of Frederick Avenue and Babylon Turnpike for an attempted robbery. A 13-year-old female and a 10-year-old male juvenile were walking southbound on Babylon Turnpike when an unknown male suspect approached them demanding money. When the victims did not comply, the male suspect displayed what appeared to be a black handgun and struck the male victim several times in the arm causing no injuries. The juveniles in fear for their safety, ran home and informed their parents who then notified police. After a thorough investigation, the defendant, 15, was located and placed into custody without incident.
The Juvenile Defendant is charged with Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, July 11, 2025 at First District Court, Youth Offender Part, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
