First Squad Detectives report the arrest of a North Bellmore man for Criminal Possession of a Firearm that occurred on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 7:20 pm in North Bellmore.
According to detectives, 911 received a call about a disturbance that occurred in a Wantagh restaurant. The caller advised the 911 operator that one of the parties involved in the argument may possess a firearm. Officers responded to 2302 Lafayette Street to conduct a thorough investigation. Two (2) handguns were recovered from the residence. Robert Kellington, 80, was arrested without incident.
Defendant Kellington is charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court, Hempstead, on August 7, 2026.
