
The Electronics Squad reports the arrest of a Copiague man for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 2:44 pm in Plandome Manor and Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 10:59 am in Baldwin.
According to Detectives, Defendant Richard Almonte, 37, of 69 Verrazano Avenue, did deposit fraudulent checks at Capitol One located at 27 Gulls Cove and at Four Leaf Federal Credit Union located at 1800 Grand Avenue valued at approximately $66,000 causing a financial loss to a Nassau County resident and Four Leaf Credit Union.
After an extensive investigation, Defendant Richard Almonte was located and placed into custody on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Defendant Richard Almonte is being charged with two (2) counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Attempted Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at First District Court in Hempstead.
