The Electronics Squad Fraud & Forgery Unit report the arrest of a Staten Island man on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 7:05 am for Grand Larceny.
According to Detectives, Defendant Denys Hryshchenko, 18, of 416 Ogorman Avenue entered FedEx located at 25 Newbridge Road on April 23, 2026. The defendant used fraudulent identification to retrieve two packages worth approximately $97,000 before fleeing the scene. After a thorough investigation, the defendant was placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.
Defendant Denys Hryshchenko is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, Identity Theft 1st Degree, Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Personal Identifying Information. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
