The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 7:00 a.m. in Woodmere.
According to detectives, an unknown male was present at Young Isreal of Woodmere when he received a check in the amount of $500 USC. The subject subsequently altered the check to the amount of $5,000 USC and cashed it. The defendant, Israel Amar, 36, of 1158 42nd Street, returned to Young Isreal of Woodmere on Thursday, January 8, 2026 where he was arrested without incident.
Defendant Amar is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Identity Theft 1st Degree. He was arraigned on Friday, January 9, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
