The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for an incident that occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 9:10 PM in Oceanside.

According to detectives, officers conducted a Vehicle Traffic Law stop on a 2025 Jeep on Daly Boulevard. An investigation at the scene indicated that the vehicle had been reported stolen. When officers attempted to arrest the driver, Defendant Macsteve Diaz, 26, of 21455 Jamaica Avenue, he resisted causing two officers to sustain injuries. Both officers were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Defendant Macsteve Diaz is charged with two counts of Assault 2^nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4^th Degree, Illegal Possession of a Vehicle Identification Number, Resisting Arrest and multiple Vehicle Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned on Friday, January 2, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Mugshot not available at this time.
