The Narcotics/Vice Squad reports the arrest of a Wantagh man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Wednesday, January 7, 2025 at 9:44 a.m. in Wantagh.

According to detectives, the Nassau County Probation Department along with the Nassau County Police Department responded to a Darby Road residence for an investigation. While inside the residence, approximately 85 grams of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine, 15 grams of a substance believed to be ketamine, various quantities of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), alprazolam and methamphetamine paraphernalia were recovered inside of the home. The defendant, Daniel Posner, 53, of 1382 Darby Road was arrested at the scene without incident. The Town of Hempstead Buildings Department secured the residence and property.

Defendant Posner is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2^nd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4^th and eight (8) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance 7^th. He was arraigned on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
