The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Wantagh man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 1:51 PM in Wantagh.

According to detectives, officers responded to an Austin Avenue residence for an investigation. The investigation led to the recovery of three rifles, one pistol, three high capacity magazines and two lower receivers for handguns. It was determined the weapons belong to Defendant Edward Sheintul, 56, of Wantagh. He was arrested without incident.

Defendant Edward Sheintul is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, six counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
