The Eighth Squad reports the details of a Vehicular Accident involving an e-scooter that occurred on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 10:05 a.m. in Hicksville.
According to Detectives, a 17-year-old male juvenile was operating an e-scooter traveling eastbound on Genesee Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a Town of Oyster Bay garbage truck that was traveling northbound on Cortland Avenue. The operator of the e-scooter suffered serious physical injuries and was transported to a local area hospital where he is listed in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
