The Homicide Squad is investigating a Serious Auto Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 5:45 am in Massapequa.
According to detectives, a 41-year-old female was crossing Merrick Road at Bayview Avenue when she was struck by a 2019 Hyundai operated by a 27-year-old driver travelling west on Merrick Road. The female victim suffered severe body trauma and was transported to a local nearby hospital for treatment in a Nassau County Police Ambulance. The victim was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. The driver remained on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
