The Major Case Squad reports the arrest of four individuals for multiple Grand Larcenies that occurred throughout Nassau County.
According to detectives, a thorough investigation led to the arrest of the below listed defendants on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
- Cosmina Caldararu, 39, of 122 Walnut Street, Bridgeport Connecticut
- Laura Calin, 33, of 122 Walnut Street, Bridgeport Connecticut
- Alexendru Dumitru, 36, of 122 Walnut Street, Bridgeport Connecticut
- Constantin Dumitru, 41, of 122 Walnut Street, Bridgeport Connecticut
On July 28, 2025, Defendant Cosmina Caldararu removed jewelry from an 18-year-old male victim in Uniondale.
On October 3, 2025, Defendants Cosmina Caldararu and Constantin Dumitru removed jewelry from an 84-year-old male victim in Baldwin.
On November 26, 2025, Defendants Cosmina Caldararu, Laura Calin and Alexendru Dumitru removed jewelry from a 94-year-old female victim in Oceanside.
On November 28, 2025, Defendants Cosmina Caldararu, Laura Calin and Alexendru Dumitru removed jewelry from a 66-year-old male victim in Franklin Square.
On November 29, 2025, Defendants Cosmina Caldararu, Laura Calin and Alexendru Dumitru removed jewelry from a 79-year-old female victim in Valley Stream.
On November 30, 2025, Defendants Cosmina Caldararu and Alexendru Dumitru removed jewelry from a 70-year-old female victim and a 68-year-old male victim in Valley Stream.
Defendant Cosmina Caldararu is being charged with seven counts of grand larceny 4th degree and three counts of conspiracy 5th. Defendant Alexendru Dumitru is being charged with five counts of grand larceny 4th and three counts of conspiracy 5th. Defendant Laura Calin is being charged with four counts of grand larceny 4th and two counts of conspiracy 5th and Constantin Dumitru is being charged with grand larceny 4th degree. All defendants were released on Appearance Tickets and taken into custody by U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents.
