The Fourth squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 9:29 a.m. in Hewlett Bay Park.
According to detectives, a 40-year-old female was operating a 2023 GMC in the driveway of a residence on Elinor Road when she lost control of her vehicle striking a tree, a parked and unoccupied 2006 Honda and subsequently becoming immersed in an inground pool. The victim was removed from the vehicle prior to police arrival. Responding Officers initiated life saving measures prior to the victim being transported to a local area hospital where she was pronounced.
The investigation is ongoing.
