The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a building fire that occurred on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 4:48 pm in North Valley Stream.

According to Detectives, Officers responded to an apartment building fire located at 1027 Fenwood Drive. Upon arrival, Officers observed a heavy smoke condition and flames emanating from the basement. The Elmont Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene. A firefighter suffered a leg injury and was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment. No other injuries were reported. The Red Cross was notified and responded to assist the displaced residents. 

The investigation is on-going.
