The Special Victims Squad reports the arrest of a Hicksville man for an incident that occurred on September 3, 2026 in Hicksville.
According to detectives, defendant Borys Barrera-Callejas, 38, of 198 W Nicholai Street was placed under arrest after an investigation revealed him having social media accounts on his phone that he failed to properly report, which is forbidden as a registered sex offender. Further investigation resulted in numerous child pornography files located on his phone.
Defendant Borys Barrera-Callejas is charged with three counts of Possessing Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child less than 16 and two counts of Sex Offenders Failure to Report Change in Status. He was arraigned on September 4, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
