Third Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Massachusetts man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 10:36 pm in Carle Place.
According to Detectives, Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) Officers, while on patrol, observed a black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Old Country Road merge northbound onto the Northern State Parkway and fail to use its turn signal. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
A thorough investigation was conducted. Officers recovered two (2) switchblade knives and a loaded handgun from the vehicle. Steven Raymond, 25, of 501 High Street Dunstable, Massachusetts, was arrested without incident,
Defendant Raymond is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions. He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at First District Court, Hempstead.
