The Sixth Squad reports the arrest of a Long Beach man for an incident that occurred on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 5:28 PM in East Hills.
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a Canterbury Lane residence for a 911 call. The investigation determined that the Defendant, Shawn Morgenroth, 43, of 255 W. Pine Street unlawfully entered the 39-year-old female victim’s residence without permission. Once inside, the defendant and the victim got into a verbal argument. The defendant forcibly removed the victim’s cell phone from her hands and physically prevented her from exiting the residence. The argument escalated into a physical altercation and the defendant subsequently pushed the victim down the stairs causing her to suffer physical injuries.
Officers located the defendant in the basement brandishing a metal object in a threatening manner causing officers to utilize an Electronic Control Device (ECD), to place him into custody. The victim and the defendant were transported to local area hospitals for evaluation and treatment. Further investigation revealed the defendant had violated a valid Order of Protection.
Defendant Shawn Morgenroth is charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Robbery 3rd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
