The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of a Farmingdale man for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 8:00 pm in Farmingdale.
According to Detectives, officers responded to a residence on Colombia Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a verbal argument had occurred earlier in the day between the Defendant, Saul Sanchez, 45, and a female victim, 36. The defendant brandished a boxcutter and threatened the victim, placing her in fear for her safety. The defendant then fled the scene on foot. The female victim asked her eldest son, 21, for assistance with changing the locks on the doors. Defendant Sanchez returned to the scene and a verbal argument ensued with the 21-year-old male victim which escalated into a physical altercation, during which the defendant struck the male victim in the head and broke his chain. The defendant retrieved a machete from his vehicle and proceeded to chase the male victim down the street. Defendant Sanchez while chasing the victim, approached a 15-year-old male, threatened him and demanded his black bag. The victim complied and the defendant fled the scene on foot. Fearing for his safety, the victim called 911.
A short time later, the defendant was located and placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.
Defendant Saul Sanchez is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, two (2) counts of Menacing 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
