Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Valley Stream man for a Robbery that occurred on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 8:01 pm in Elmont.
According to detectives, the male victim, 59, was in front of Elmont Deli and Convenience located at 237-01 Linden Boulevard when an unknown male began to argue with the victim. The subject proceeded to punch the victim in the face multiple times, knocking him to the ground. The subject kicked the victim, dragged him on the concrete and then removed his cell phone from the ground. The subject fled eastbound on Linden Boulevard.
A thorough investigation was conducted and Jason Gayle, 45, of 183 Cedar Street, was arrested.
A Nassau County Police Medic responded to the scene to evaluate and treat the victim who refused to be transported to an area hospital.
Defendant Gayle is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at First District Court, Hempstead.
